Colo Colo visits Coquimbo Unido this Sunday, October 11, at Estadio Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso for matchday 24 of the First Division. The match kicks off at 15:00 and will be refereed by José Cabero.

According to Cooperativa, Colo Colo arrives as comfortable leaders, with a 12-point advantage over Universidad Católica. La Serena newspaper El Día specifies that Fernando Ortiz's team has 54 points and holds that same lead over Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile.

The "Cacique" has gone 14 matches unbeaten across all competitions, according to El Día, and needs 10 more points to mathematically secure title number 35. Before the break, however, it dropped points in draws against Huachipato and Deportes Concepción.

Universidad Católica will not play this weekend. A mudslide in the Andean foothills forced the postponement of its match against Audax Italiano, giving Colo Colo a chance to extend its lead.

During the FIFA international break, Colo Colo eliminated Audax Italiano from the Chile Cup with a 1-0 aggregate score. It then beat Deportes Puerto Montt by a single goal in Chinquihue, but the return leg at the Monumental was suspended at halftime because of rain affecting the pitch.

Eduardo Villanueva played in goal in the Chile Cup, but Gabriel Maureira will return as goalkeeper and Vozinha will be on the bench. Ortiz used those matches to give young players game time, and they will feature again. The lineup: Maureira; Jonathan Villagra, Arturo Vidal, Joaquín Sosa; Jeyson Rojas, Cristián Díaz, Víctor Felipe Méndez, Álvaro Madrid, Gedeón Díaz; Leandro Hernández and Javier Correa.

In the port city, the outlook is different. Hernán Caputto's team has suffered three consecutive defeats in the league: 4-2 against Universidad de Chile, 3-2 against Cobresal and 1-0 against Huachipato. In the Chile Cup, however, it reached the quarterfinals after beating Cobreloa 2-1 in both the first and second legs.

The black-and-golds sit eleventh with 29 points, four behind Deportes Limache, which occupies the final Copa Sudamericana qualifying spot. Further down, Cobresal and Universidad de Concepción are well clear of bottom club Unión La Calera.

Coquimbo has no suspended players, but will play without 2,765 fans from the north stand. The ANFP (National Professional Football Association) sanctioned them for the August 30 attack on Huachipato goalkeeper Christian Bravo, at whom they threw a noise bomb. The punishment covers the matches against Colo Colo and Ñublense.

Recent history suggests a tight match. Six of the last seven meetings ended with fewer than three goals, and Colo Colo has not won at the Sánchez Rumoroso since 2022. In the 2026 League Cup, Coquimbo won 1-0, while Colo Colo prevailed 3-1 in the league.

If it wins this Sunday, Colo Colo will be seven points away from securing the title, with 57 points.
