Deportes Concepción had victory in the bag until the final play. This Sunday, at Ester Roa Rebolledo stadium, Unión La Calera snatched a 1-1 draw with a goal in the 90+6 minute, in round 24 of the First Division League.

According to BioBioChile, the home side squandered several chances and the visitors capitalized at the end. The equalizer came from La Calera's striker, whose name BioBioChile spells Christopher Díaz and Cooperativa spells Cristopher Díaz.

Fernando Díaz's team opened the scoring after 50 minutes. Cristián Riquelme delivered the cross and Ethan Espinoza struck first time with the inside of his foot from inside the box, scoring a superb goal that brought Collao to life.

At 78', the home side appealed for a penalty for a foul in the box by goalkeeper Nicolás Avellaneda. Referee Héctor Jona reviewed VAR (video refereeing) and awarded only a corner, according to Cooperativa.

As the match was drawing to a close, Bayron Oyarzo sent a cross into the box and Díaz finished to equalize, leaving the Concepción crowd stunned.

The point is worth its weight in gold for La Calera, bottom of the league. It reached 18 points, five behind second-bottom Universidad de Concepción and seven behind Cobresal, the first team outside the relegation zone.

For the León de Collao, the draw felt like a defeat. It squandered the chance to move into the continental qualification places and stayed ninth with 32 points.

In the next round, La Calera will host Universidad Católica, while Deportes Concepción will visit La Serena.
