Everton and Deportes La Serena drew 1-1 this Sunday, October 11, at Sausalito stadium in round 24 of the Liga de Primera. The match kicked off at 12:30.
According to Cooperativa's score record, the visitors struck first. Felipe Chamorro scored in the 10th minute to put the Maroons ahead at Sausalito.
The home side responded before halftime. In the 28th minute, Julián Alfaro made it 1-1 for Everton, and the record lists no further goals.
The shared points slow the Viña del Mar team's momentum. Everton were coming off a 3-1 rout of Ñublense and, according to El Rancaguino, had recorded two wins, a draw and a defeat in their last four matches, with 10 goals scored and 4 conceded.
La Serena, meanwhile, were coming off a 0-3 defeat to Universidad de Chile. Before that loss, the northern side had recorded three wins and a draw. The last meeting between the teams, on April 11 this year, ended 1-0 in favor of the Maroons.
Before the round, Everton were fourth with 36 points (10 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats), while La Serena were tenth with 30. The draw takes Everton to 37 points and La Serena to 31. Colo Colo lead the table with 54 points, followed by Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile, both with 42.
The match referee was Reinerio Alvarado González, according to El Rancaguino's preview.
In round 25, Everton will host Universidad de Chile on October 26 at 20:00, a direct contest for international cup qualification places. La Serena will face Deportes Concepción earlier, on October 24 at 12:30.
