Senate President Paulina Núñez opened the door to a possible presidential bid. She made the remarks in an interview with Radio Súbela, where she was asked about her political future. "I'm not ruling it out, obviously," she replied.

According to CNN Chile, the National Renewal (RN) senator began cautiously. She said there was "still so much time to go" before considering that question. However, she did not rule out the possibility and summed up her position in a phrase: "the best campaign is a job well done".

Núñez, a senator for the Antofagasta Region, also set out a condition for entering government. "When you arrive at La Moneda, you don't come to improvise. It takes experience, it takes know-how, it takes having held other positions," she said.

She also spoke about her career. "A long time ago, I decided to devote my life to public service, to politics," she said. According to BioBioChile, she acknowledged that she had never imagined becoming Senate president, a position she secured through an agreement between parliamentary groups.

Her remarks position her as a possible contender within RN, one of the traditional parties of the Chilean right. The sources report no reactions from her party or other political groups. Nor do they specify when the elections she refers to would take place.

For now, Núñez said her priority is presiding over the Senate. She said she would focus on advancing bills on employment and security, two of the main public demands she identified in the interview.
