Chile's men's under-20 rugby team defeated Brazil 80-7 at Parque Mahuida in La Reina and secured a place in the World Rugby U20 Challenger final. With that result, Chile finished top of Group A with maximum points.

According to Cooperativa, Los Cóndores entered the final group-stage match after beating Hong Kong China 83-19 and Romania 50-9. Against the "Tupís," as the Brazilians are nicknamed, the national team took its tally to 213 points scored and 35 conceded across three matches.

The World Rugby U20 Challenger is the youth tournament organized by World Rugby, the sport's global governing body, for national teams below the top tier in the age group. This edition is being played in Santiago.

The match was decided early. Chile dominated the set pieces and relied on the power of its forwards to take a 41-0 lead with five tries. Brazil scored its only points just before halftime.

In the second half, Sebastián Benavente scored a try moments after play resumed and also contributed with his accurate kicking at goal. From there, the hosts stepped up the pace and maintained control of the game.

The standout player was winger Gianfranco Di Giorgis, who scored three tries (Cooperativa spells his surname as "de Giorgis"). According to BioBioChile, Rafael Silva scored two tries in the first half. Max Schlesinger, Lucca Baglieto, José Tomás Bonilla, Cristóbal Escobar, Benavente, Nicolás Weitzel and Santiago Wood also scored.

Their opponents in the final will be Belgium, who won Group B after beating Portugal, Canada and Namibia in succession. Team Chile, the Chilean Olympic Committee's account, celebrated on X that the national team had won its group unbeaten.

The final will be played on Saturday, October 17, at 19:00 at Parque Mahuida.
