A group of Santiago Wanderers fans stopped Uruguayan defender Sergio Felipe outside Elías Figueroa Stadium in Valparaíso after the 2-1 defeat to Curicó Unido in matchday 27 of the 2026 Promotion League.
According to Cooperativa, the supporters expressed their frustration over the string of defeats and formally asked him to arrange coach Francisco Palladino's departure. "We, the fans, don't want that guy to stay, because he doesn't represent us," one of them told the defender.
The complaints also focused on the slide down the table. "Magallanes won and we're fifth. A month and a half ago we were fighting for the Intercontinental, we were first and now we have nothing," they said. The G5 Noticias website, however, places Wanderers fourth with 44 points, behind Magallanes, who reached 46 after winning 2-1 away at Deportes Recoleta.
The match, refereed by Diego Flores Seguel in front of around six thousand people, started well for Wanderers. In the 18th minute, fullback Pedro Navarro stretched to connect with a corner and opened the scoring. In the 32nd minute, striker Marcos Camarda went off with an ankle injury and young player Cristián Silva came on.
In the second half, the home side slowed down and Curicó gained momentum from set pieces. In the 71st minute, Enzo Ormeño equalized with a header from Medina's free kick. Wanderers pushed forward and left themselves exposed: in the 82nd minute, Nicolás Fernández ran from his own half, beat two defenders and finished into the far corner to make it 1-2.
It is Wanderers' fourth consecutive defeat, leaving them four points behind leaders Cobreloa (48), with a game in hand for Cobreloa and for San Luis, the tournament's second-placed side.
Curicó Unido, coached by Damián Muñoz, climbed to 13th place with 27 points and provisionally extended their lead over bottom side Rangers de Talca to nine points in the fight to avoid relegation.
