A 25-year-old man died after being shot in the head on the night of Sunday, October 11, on Aysén Street in the La Legua Antigua neighborhood of San Joaquín. The attackers fired from a moving vehicle and escaped.

According to T13, the attack occurred at around 20:45. The victim, an adult Chilean man, was socializing outside his home when a white car arrived with several people inside. Meganoticias specified that the man was 25 years old and that the incident took place on a public street.

Prosecutor Sergio Ortega Obregón, of the ECOH Prosecutor's Office (Organized Crime and Homicide Team), said that "unidentified individuals fired approximately 10 shots from the moving vehicle". One of the bullets struck the victim in the skull.

The man was taken to the Enrique Molina High-Resolution Care Service (SAR), where he died from the severity of his injuries, according to Commissioner Christopher Hidalgo of the Investigative Police's Southern Homicide Brigade (PDI).

The attackers fled in the same vehicle and, so far, no arrests have been made and their whereabouts are unknown. The sources did not provide the victim's identity.

The investigation is in its initial stage, led by the ECOH Prosecutor's Office and detectives from the Southern Homicide Brigade. Their task is to gather evidence at the scene, identify those responsible and establish the motive.

The preliminary hypotheses include a possible settling of scores, according to T13. Investigators cautioned that this line of inquiry will need to be corroborated as the investigation progresses.
