A new expulsion flight took off this Saturday carrying 56 foreign nationals, who were transported to Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador. Of the total, 45 left under administrative expulsion orders and 11 under court orders. It is the tenth flight of this kind organized by the current administration.

According to CNN Chile, this operation brings the government's total to 1,874 expulsions of foreign nationals during 2026. Undersecretary of the Interior Máximo Pavez presented the figures alongside National Migration Service Director Frank Sauerbaum and representatives of the Investigative Police (PDI).

Chilevisión published the National Migration Service's breakdown: 1,633 expulsions resulted from administrative proceedings and 185 from court orders. Those two figures add up to 1,818, or 56 fewer than the announced total. The sources do not explain the difference, although it matches the number of people who left on Saturday's flight.

Authorities also presented figures on irregular entries. Between January and September 2026, 301 reports were filed directly at the border, compared with 4,515 in the same period of 2025. That represents a decline of 93.3%.

At the same time, checks within the country increased. Immigration enforcement operations rose 24.7%, from 1,407 to 1,755. The number of foreign nationals checked increased from 28,085 to 41,171.

The other route out is voluntary departure. Between January 3 and October 4, 10,345 foreign nationals who had entered through unauthorized crossings left Chile through police checkpoints. Of these, 8,243 are Venezuelan, or 79.7% of the total.

The Migration Service added that, as of October 7, it had issued 5,100 decisions authorizing departure from the country. Combining expulsions and voluntary departures, the government reports 12,219 departures recorded during 2026.
