According to BioBioChile, police arrested a driver traveling at 184 kilometers per hour on Route 68 near Curacaví, in the Metropolitan Region. The car is registered to Deputy Jorge Brito.
The stop took place at kilometer 52 of the highway linking Santiago and Valparaíso. Officers used a speed gun and recorded the vehicle traveling 64 km/h above the 120 km/h limit on that stretch.
Police arrested the driver for reckless driving. However, according to the same outlet, the driver was subsequently released with a requirement to appear when summoned. This means the proceedings continued while the driver remained free, with an obligation to appear when summoned by the courts.
The police traffic account on X reported the incident. According to a post by @CarabTransito, the driver was placed at the disposal of the courts. The institution did not mention the vehicle's owner.
