President José Antonio Kast ranked 12th of 18 Latin American leaders in the October positive image ranking compiled by the consultancy CB Global Data. He slipped one place from September and again fell outside the top ten.
According to T13, Kast reached a 41.6% positive image rating. BioBioChile reported the same figure. CNN Chile, however, reported an approval rating of 38.8%, a drop of 4.1 points from 42.9% in September, with disapproval rising from 52.5% to 56.8%.
Both figures come from the same study. In Chile, 17.9% rated his administration as very good and 20.9% as good, for a total of 38.8%. Another 40.5% rated it as very bad, 16.3% as bad, and 4.4% did not know or did not answer. The sources do not explain how the 41.6% positive image figure is calculated.
The trend is downward. According to T13, Kast stood at 48.9% in March, at the start of his term, 47.7% in August and 42.9% in September. Since March he has lost 7.3 points.
In the regional table, the leader of the Partido Republicano (Republican Party) ranks below Bolivia's Rodrigo Paz, who holds 11th place, and Paraguay's Santiago Peña. He is ahead of Panama's José Raúl Mulino (13) and Argentina's Javier Milei (14).
