Cristian Pradenas left the Regional Ministerial Secretariat (regional secretariat) for National Assets in Arica and Parinacota this Friday, according to ADN Radio. The outlet reported that his departure first circulated as a rumor and was confirmed during the afternoon. No other source has corroborated the information so far.

The reason for the resignation remains unknown. According to the radio station, the region's Presidential Delegation is preparing an official statement on the departure from the regional cabinet.

With Pradenas, five regional ministerial secretaries have left in Arica and Parinacota since José Antonio Kast's government took office seven months ago. The regional officials for Labor, Finance and Agriculture had previously left.

The most controversial case was that of former regional ministerial secretary for Health Karla Kepec. She resigned after controversy over a message in which she required job seekers to be members of the Republican Party or children of a party member.

Regional ministerial secretaries represent each ministry in the regions. They implement central government policies locally, and their appointment depends on the President of the Republic.

The turnover in Arica and Parinacota comes amid other changes and failed appointments in the executive branch, according to ADN Radio. Pradenas's replacement has yet to be named. There is also no date for the Presidential Delegation's formal announcement.
