According to T13, Metro de Santiago, the Chilean capital's subway system, suspended service on part of Line 1 on Tuesday morning due to a medical emergency. The company has not released details about the person affected or what happened.
According to what Metro posted on its X account, as cited by the outlet, trains were running only on two sections: from San Pablo to U. de Chile and from Baquedano to Los Dominicos.
The stations left out of operation were Santa Lucía and U. Católica, located in central Santiago along the Alameda.
Metro warned on the same social network that full restoration of service "could take more than an hour" and pledged to keep the information updated.
To check the status of the network, you can follow the X profiles of Metro de Santiago and Red Movilidad, the capital's public transport system. T13 said the situation is still developing and that some details could change.
